## Challenge

Association between clinical outcomes and patient characteristics among hospitalized adult COVID-19 patients. Note: partner institutions not confirmed — flagged for manual verification.

## Solution

Target RWE researchers analyzed hospital chargemaster data to characterize associations between patient clinical and demographic characteristics and in-hospital outcomes including mechanical ventilation and mortality among US adult COVID-19 inpatients.

## Impact

Identifying patient characteristics associated with severe COVID-19 outcomes provides clinical decision support evidence and informs the design of therapeutic intervention studies targeting high-risk COVID-19 patient subgroups.
