## Challenge

Advanced IBD therapy development lacked a large-scale, prospective, longitudinal real-world cohort with the depth of clinical, endoscopic, biomarker, and PRO data needed to generate comparative effectiveness, safety, and natural history evidence—the foundational gap that TARGET-IBD was designed to address.

## Solution

The TARGET-IBD registry was launched at ACG 2018 as a novel longitudinal observational cohort of adult and pediatric IBD patients at 35 US academic and community sites, designed for centralized medical record abstraction, quarterly PROs, and biospecimen collection with a target enrollment of 15,000 patients.

## Impact

Announcing the TARGET-IBD registry at ACG 2018 established the foundational real-world IBD evidence platform, initiating the investigator and pharma partner engagement that has since enabled 20+ publications and partnerships with AbbVie, Bristol Myers Squibb, Merck, and other IBD sponsors.
