## Challenge

This is the DDW 2020 oral presentation version of the elderly IBD medication use study (Row 7 manuscript and Row 23 ACG 2019 poster). Conference oral presentation of the finding that elderly IBD patients are significantly more likely to receive aminosalicylate monotherapy and less likely to receive biologics.

## Solution

The TARGET-IBD registry was used to characterize medication use patterns across age groups in adult IBD patients at DDW 2020, with comparative analyses of aminosalicylate and biologic use rates between elderly and younger patients.

## Impact

High-visibility oral presentation at DDW 2020 of the elderly IBD medication use findings builds prescriber and sponsor awareness of age-related treatment disparities in IBD, supporting the case for age-inclusive trial design and label claims for advanced IBD therapies.
