Emily Akin

Emily Akin serves as the Head of Delivery at Target RWE, bringing more than 20 years of global leadership experience across clinical research operations, healthcare technology, and SaaS strategy. In her role, Emily oversees the execution of complex evidence generation initiatives, partnering closely with life science and healthcare clients to deliver high-quality, scalable research programs that accelerate the development and delivery of therapies.

Prior to joining Target RWE, Emily served as Head of the Flatiron Trials and Research Network at Flatiron Health. There, she was critical to the development of U.S. CRO services, operationalized large-scale multi-center oncology trials, and advanced site engagement strategies across key hospital partnerships.

Her extensive background also includes serving as Global Project Director at George Clinical, where she managed global Phase I-III trials, and leadership roles at United BioSource, where she helped scale global clinical site services and led diverse teams of clinical research professionals, especially in late stage clinical trials.

Emily has deep expertise in designing and operationalizing complex clinical and real-world research programs across therapeutic areas including Oncology, Gastroenterology, Cardiometabolic, and Pharmacovigilance. Her work has spanned more than a dozen countries across North America, Europe, Asia, and Latin America.

Emily holds a Master of Business Administration from the University of Missouri-Kansas City and a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Kansas.
